Building the Bugatti T35 Challenger.
Part 1. April 12 2006
After unpacking the well packed model I first started to look at all the fine parts.
It has taken some time to take the decision to by the model and you know how it works, you are looking several times a day at the website of Art-Collection to imagine what it is like to have this model.
If you have it at last in your own hands you are amazed how beautiful everything is.
I am used to nice things because I make a lot model car parts myself but still, I was amazed of the quality of the parts. As far as I can see now there is practically no fine tuning of the parts necessary, besides some sanding and cleaning of the welded parts.
I am now in the process of making an inventory of all the parts to see whether everything is complete and to sort them out. I have taken pictures of all the parts as you can see at the parts pages.
In the package there is some sort of manual but you have to determine the sequence of building yourself.
First of all you need good pictures of the real car as an example how everything looks, and where al the parts must be. Next to that I was looking for some more details. A week after I received the model there was a big classic car show in Essen Germany the so called Techno Classica. Fortunate there were several T35 on the show, so I was able to make a lot pictures from all the important details. These pictures can be seen under references. Thanks to the German Bugatti club.
Now I have the first information I need , I will start making a planning where to begin. I have deceided to put the car together first before painting. If you do the painting first with a moderl like this you will have the chance to damage you paint work. On the other hand there might be a possibility that painted parts do not fit and you have to adjust them.
So far the first step.
Let us take a look at the planning.
